So impressed I have now bought another one for my son - I think that it is that good. It connects easily either directly via scart or hdmi cable (preferred method for me). It is very easy to set up, connect to TV, aerial and sensor, then add USB memory stick of your choice. I bought a separate 64GB for me and a 32GB for my son. Formatting is easy (FAT) and then use EPG mode to select items to record. Also works as a quality Freeview box as well, with or without USB. Remote control is easy to intuitively use and senor picks it up with no problems. USB can then be disconnected (if you wish) and recorded programs can also be played back on PC or Laptop, also can be saved for later viewing thereby releasing memory for further recordings on Iview HD. The HD recording or direct viewing is excellent. All in all a really amazing piece of technology that makes other expensive recorders seem poor. Only drawback is that I cannot seem to get pause live to work - maybe it's me!Read full review

I hate this thing with a vengeance. In fact nothing would please me better than to crunch it under my heel. This ridiculous little machine has absolutely no relevance on any remote you have ever used. Anything you want to do you need to search and search and search for a way to do what do you want to do. I’m just talking about changing channels for example, finding the program guide, and then when you finally find that, to try to get the synopsis you actually have to go onto the channel itself. It is ridiculously horrible. Do not buy it! If you do, you will be sorry (as I am)

I've bought two of these tuners. The main positives are that 1. HD recordings made from it are not locked into the unit and vare of uninterrupted quality unlike many cheap tuner modules and 2. The HD EPG is in English, not a set of meaningless symbols as in other offerings - I am careful not to reset to the factory settings as this might remove this feature. The negative point is that the plug in IR sensor has a dodgy contact with the socket. To their credit they gave me a replacement when the first one failed to make contact, but with both units I bought you have to be careful not to twist the wiring once a proper contact has been made. Obviously you have to extend start and end times to ensure a complete recording, but this is very easily done. Excellent value once you've mastered the basics of using it.Read full review

Item worked excellently. Does what it says on the tin. But small USB pen drives of 16Gb and 64Gb did not work. I needed to use a 250 Gb Freecom Toughdrive. Then the recorder worked perfectly.
