Simply put: best collection of Eagles music available!
In some ways, I've always felt guilty about buying "Best Of" albums because I frequently find them a guilty pleasure - often disregarding the songs and explorations that make artists worthy of "Best Of" albums truly great. Consequently, the "Best Of" albums that I respect most - and like best - are those that are fair representations of all of the artist's works - not merely a collection of his or her most 'popular' tunes. Thats what the Eagles' The Very Best of the Eagles album is - a true collection that is representative of the Eagles' generation-spanning work. Before this 2003 CD release, there were other Best of the Eagles albums on the markets - in fact the #2 selling record ever is exactly that: The Eagles Greatest Hits ... In some ways, I've always felt guilty about buying "Best Of" albums because I frequently find them a guilty pleasure - often disregarding the songs and explorations that make artists worthy of "Best Of" albums truly great. Consequently, the "Best Of" albums that I respect most - and like best - are those that are fair representations of all of the artist's works - not merely a collection of his or her most 'popular' tunes. Thats what the Eagles' The Very Best of the Eagles album is - a true collection that is representative of the Eagles' generation-spanning work. Before this 2003 CD release, there were other Best of the Eagles albums on the markets - in fact the #2 selling record ever is exactly that: The Eagles Greatest Hits 1971-1975. The difference, however, is that the other best of albums only represent a specific span of Eagles years (the 70s, the 80s, acoustic, live, etc). The Very Best of the Eagles, however, is a collection of everything Eagles between 1972 and 2003. Thats a big range - one that covers tracks on their first album (1971) like 'Ol 55 to the 2004 Grammy nominee "Hole in the World." Of course, this double-CD collection includes all of the great Eagles songs that simply aren't all available in any other single compliation. Take for example the first 5 tracks on Disc One: Take it Easy, Witchy Woman, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Desparado, and Tequilla Sunrise. What a lineup! If you are an Eagles fan and are a seeking the authoritative collection of 33 great Eagles' songs - The Very Best of the Eagles is a can't miss album. Great for a road trip or for downloading to your iPod and listening at the office. In addition to the 33 tracks - you also get a 46-page booklet with song information, pictures, etc. Simply put: the best collection of Eagles music available.

You take very hungry but talented guys. You put them all in a small space"THE Closet's of an Apartment Building" Then you let them grow into one of the greatest groups of all time. That is What happened in the late Sixty's. To say that anyone of the guys was a star all on his own was poor judgment on anyones part. Every one of these outstanding musicians could have made a "GROUP" all by themselves. Just take one of these guys throw in a few studio backup bit players and presto change-o A hit record with an album to follow shortly. Glen, Don, and Joe all did it to the MAX. Still as their reunion tour showed. These guys had a spark that turned into a raging FOREST FIRE every time they stepped on stage or into the recording session together. This particular Album ... It is the OLD story if you don't have this "YOU AIN"T SH_T" I still to this day can sing "Not very well mind you" all of the words to "Hotel California" "Desperado" "Seven Bridges Road" "Heartache Tonight" "Long Run""Witchy Woman" and "Tequila Sunrise"(WE INVENTED THAT LIBATION ( 1oz.Tequila and Orange Juice mixed with Crushed Ice You then pour Grenadine syrup down the Center in a thin stream till it covers the bottom of the glass Use a tall Chimney Glass and place in a very cold freezer for 20 mins They come out frosty and slushy Put a Candied maraschino Cherry On the end of a long straw and push it to the bottom center. @ THE "LUCKY LION" IN "Stateline, Nevada" Next Door to South Lake Tahoe, CA) in 1972 Just before a Night Club Called the Riverboat Burned down Next To Harveys Inn Casino and Motel also in Stateline, NV. They built a Ben's Discount Liquor to replace it. Even though I no longer Drink Alcohol or Smoke Cigarettes hearing any of the wonderful songs of the Seventies and Eighties by the one and only "EAGLES" reminds me of my offta times miss spent young adulthood. Wow what a collection!
I purchased this CD recently and it is Awesome has the majority of songs that got radio play. The box that it comes in is quality sturdy and the booklet is very informative there are questions that Glenn, Don and the other band members answer about where the songs were made and where they came from. Overall I can't recommend this one enough perfect for long road trips! I am in the middle of collecting lots of Greatest Hits CD's I also have the ELO Greatest Hits which is pretty nice as well as Foreigner.
