A mechanical hard drive as fast as this is perfect for your operating system, I would however use a standard drive for storing viedo's, music and pictures as the speed isn't as essential but the diffence it makes to the speed of you computer is amazing, you really do notice it in real time, downloads, copying, moving files etc is so much quicker. IMHO you truely cant go wrong with Western Digital I dont use any other brand as I have had to many failed drives with the other brands.
Not particularly large in capacity but quick and surprisingly quiet. As prices of Solid State Drives (SSD's) have come down, the prices for these have fallen through the floor.
Great compromise between traditional platter hard drives and solid state drives. Plus the added security of possible recovery because it uses traditional mechanial platters. Great buy!
