I research any and all power tools b4 purchasing. This was by far the best deal. Amazon wanted $20 more and it only included reconditioned items. EBay's lowest price for the same product was $30 more and it didn't include a second battery. I've been using an older version of this c/less driver but it only accepts nickel cad batteries and they go bad a lot quicker than lithium batteries simply because of the design and nature of that type of battery. I wish that Hitachi would start selling the worklights with LED bulbs. They use less battery power and they are brighter and last longer. One more thing: For a 14.4 volt drill it has a hell of a lot of torque, rivaling that of corded models.

As far as the Hitachi drill is concerned it's pretty decent for the price. I would NOT have ordered this used one on Ebay if I did not like it. I was primarily looking for a charger and battery. Good news, it think I got another decent drill with a nice flashlight and case. Bad news, now I have two 14.4V Hitachi batteries that are no good and one more that is beginning to fade. This was basically my first experience ordering anything from Ebay and I kinda got what I expected, ... ripped off. O well, now I have a decent charger, as my other one seemed to part of the problem. I'll just have to buy some more batteries.

The set I received is a Hitachi DS14DVF3 14.4V NiCd 3/8" Cordless Drill , flashlight, two batteries, quick charger, carrying case. The belt hook is a nice feature, with a fixed angle. The Drill gun so far given me the power when I needed it but only in a short time as the EB1414s 14.4v niCd cells does not hold a good charge and create so much heat that the charger won't start charging until the pack is cooled down. I assume for safety reason and for the life of the battery. The flashlight would had been a nice addition if it was up to date and use LED instead the light beam is weak and the type of bulb it uses is old technology .but it does runs off the same battery as the drill which makes it convenient.
I've used plenty of drills, and this seems to fit my hand nice. Good for everyday home use, I also used it to install a spoiler on my car as well.. Battery doesn't last very long, but when the battery is new it last much longer.. as with all batterys. So if you need a everyday type drill that comfortable and gets the job, weather its installing a window in your home or a spoiler on your car, I recommend the Hitachi DS14DVF3 hands down..
Very nice cordless drill for homeowner use. Lightweight and compact, battery charges fast so you always have one ready for use. Powerful enough for homeowner use. Have used for hanging may sheets of sheetrock/drywall in finishing out 4 rooms and worked like a charm. Screwed in 3" deck screws in very hard wood and had no problems with power.
