I have a big digitsl SLR for serious work but wanted a small, good quality pocket sized digital camera for everyday use. Most of them have an obvious drawback - size, battery life, zoom range etc. This one was more expensive than I wanted to pay but cheaper than high street prices. It is small. 6.3 Mpixel is sufficient. The zoom range goes down to 28mm (35mm equivalent). The battery life is good. It operates very quickly. The controls are easy to use, although the zoom lever is not quite as good as some. The menus are intuitive and logical. The lens is good. The only thing that I miss is an optical viewfinder particularly in bright light. Overall this is a first rate product at a very good price with no significant problems.
I bought this camera because i have a friend who has one and I was very impressed with the quality of pics and the ease of use. It can get quite complicated as I have discovered especially if you decide to try everything the instruction manual tells you it can do! The vidoe clips are good quality. It does steam up when taken between different temperatures but I expect this is a fault with most cameras. This is a little annoying though. I have not been disappointed especially as I got it on e bay at a really decent price! It is a great hand bag size camera although my husband has favoured it to his own much chunkier model on a recent family holiday! He probably knows how it works better than I do now!
I decided to buy this camera for my 26 year old daughter's birthday. She indicated that she would like a pink camera, with a large LCD screen that was pretty simple to use. This camera is really classy looking, extremely easy to use and super clear pictures and videos. The LCD display is very large, giving you the opportunity to review images very clearly. She takes it everywhere with her now. Perfection!
Super dinky lil camera. I chose it for the high quality (Leica) wide angle lens (28mm equivalent) and the powerful zoom, all in a compact strong body that will easily fit in a pocket. Very easy to use and the menus are quite intuitive, with a huge variety of alternative settings and overrides for the best pictures. Good quality mini-USB link socket, uploading to my pc is a doddle. Highly recommended camera for all levels of photographer.
I bought this camera for my wife who continually complains about the quality of the photos she takes.I think the problem was due to the time lag from pressing the button to actually hearing the shutter, she tended to move the camera during the cycle. This new Panasonic Lumix has virtually solved this problem for her. I am impressed with the Video quality she can achieve with this camera. So in summing up this purchase I have rated the Camera as Good having solved the earache for me and allowed her to record the growing up of the Grand Children Martin Brown
