Awesome product! Great value for money!
This is the second book about Dexter, a forensic lab technician and a murderer - but only of bad guys. That is the simplistic version of the plot, but what a wonderful series this is! Dexter is, well, lovable. Quite a feat for a character who doesn't feel love, but has somehow found himself with a girlfriend (now fiancee in a hilarious turn of events) and a sister that he feels a certain responsibility towards helping. We stumble through horrendous murders with Dexter helping to find the bad guys, whilst fantasising about commiting a murder or two of his own. The crimes are horrible, the characters fantastic the book was read too fast. More please! Loved it - read this book and the previous title, because you won't be disappointed. Buy the Dexter novels by Jeff Lindsay, you won't be disappointed!!
I wanted to try out the Dexter novels by Jeff Lindsay as I have seen the series and see the show as iconic. I loved reading the novels and found that the show captured Dexter's character perfectly. People say that reading the books before watching the shows often disappoints you when you watch the shows, but not for me. I love the shows as much as I love the novels Jeff Lindsay wrote. I felt the way the characters come across is what makes Jeff Lindsay the perfect author of this genre.I wanted to try out the Dexter novels by Jeff Lindsay as I have seen the series and see the show as iconic. Read the book to meet the monster within, use the TV series to enjoy it
i am an avid follower of the tv series and was very interested to recently hear that there is this book series aswell. Decided to start with this one, dearly devoted dexter, as the tv series deviates from this book and the others that followed. It was a very interesting read, you get an insight into the monster within dexter as he struggles to keep up the facade of a normal life. His complete lack of feelings for characters like debs (sister) and rita (gf) really suprised me, but makes a lot of sence really. It is also interesting that cody (ritas son) also shows monsterish tendancies after it is suggested that he may have killed the neighbours dog, dexter becomes very adament to get involved and teach him the 'code of harry.' This would have been a great addition to the tv series and ... i am an avid follower of the tv series and was very interested to recently hear that there is this book series aswell. Decided to start with this one, dearly devoted dexter, as the tv series deviates from this book and the others that followed. It was a very interesting read, you get an insight into the monster within dexter as he struggles to keep up the facade of a normal life. And the ending seems especially rushed, which is why i had to knock a star off of the rating.
