Lightweight, works on Linux but not without some hassle
Bought to free up a slot on my motherboard. Works fine on Linux using snd_usb_audio.o module. It is supposed to work over usb2 but doesn't for some reason. On my system it will only run if plugged into usb3. The controls are non functional on the actual stick, in Linux, so I can not rate them. On my system the sound has never initialised properly on boot. I always have to unplug and re-insert the stick to get it to initialise correctly and give me access to alsamixer. The build quality isn't brilliant. Mine lasted 7 days before the casing fell off it. I couldn't be bothered trying to get the plastic switches back in since they are non-functional. Its now got some electrical tape around it to hold it together.. In short its cheap and cheerful. Works with Linux (3.x kernel on ... Bought to free up a slot on my motherboard. this is the kit for you if you can not get your sound back .it will save you a lot of money and will take away the red x . there are others on the market .but you need this type because it as volume you can adjust . worth every penny
