About this product

Product Information

This is the story of Lorn, a talented boy born into a family of Magi'i. Lorn lacks the attribute required of a Magus of Cyador: unquestionable loyalty. Lorn is too independent ...Forced to become a Lancer Officer, Lorn is sent to the frontier to fight off the increasingly ferocious barbarian raids. His enemies don't expect him to return.

  • Good story, but formulaic

A decent story set in Cyador but in the past and I want to read the sequel. With Modesitt events and the truth only reveal themselves slowly through the book. The reader has to work hard to figure out what is happening. I would have preferred if the map in the book showed the place names at the times of the events in the book because it was difficult to work out where people were travelling.
