    The product was delivered in the condition as promised. The packaging looked slightly worn but not more than expected for an item no longer in production and likely many years old. The price seemed reasonable for a discontinued item. There was a slight (2 days) delay in delivery but not an obstacle for us since the a/c unit was our upstairs unit. When it arrived I loaded the batteries and it fit perfectly into the existing base and started the a/c immediately. Overall we are pleased.

    Protech condenser fan motor

    It's a Chinese made motor as are most of the other brands like Emerson and Dayton. A lot of the parts will interchange with those with the same specs. There is a problem with the 5 wire hookup if you go to a 3 wire configuration. The wires have a different color code. The black goes to black, but that's it. The instructions aren't very good for a DIY swap. There is a schematic but it's not clear enough. If you do it wrong the motor can be ruined. There are electrical symbols to interpret. Once you have it wired correctly, it's about the same as the rest of them - same armature and casing fit for motors with comparable motor specs. The bearings aren't roller or ball/race, they are steel bushing and should be lubed at the start of each season.
