Motor arrived one day early, so naturally I had to pop down to the river and give it a try. I attached it to my 16ft Canadian canoe and pushed her in the water. The tide was running in full swing(about 2.5 kt) to go against it and make any decent ground I had to switch to full speed... And it goes great. I would guess that at low speed it pushes us along at normal chilled paddling speed, and high speed in pushes us along at a hard paddling speed (intact I would have to work quiet hard to keep up with it) all in all I'm very happy so far. Can't comment on reliability as I have only used it once. The battery I have opted to connect to it is a SuperBatt 50ah...

This product is perfect in size for a small dinghy or kayak. It is surprisingly small. The build qualiy seems fine for the price of the motor. The reason I would not recommend this motor is because it arrived with led voltage indictor not working correctly? On a fully charged lead acid or a fully charged lifepo4 at 13.6 volts this motor only shows 50% charge on its display. There is a review for this motor on amazon where the led display did not work followed by a short and then damage to the lads lithpo4 power pack. The motor is cheap, it pushes slow but capable and packs away very easy. I really want to like this motor but I'm worried it will fail me quickly down the line as mine as already arrived slightly defective out the box

Great small motor, pulls 12A on 12V, so just over 140W of power, but still good for my kayak mounting part with two screws is bit flimsy but you cant expect more for the price, I am using 2x 3s5000mah lipo batteries in parallel, that gives me almost an hour of runtime

Initially I was very happy with this product. Pushed my 13ft kayak around fine. I capsized one day. The top of the motor was probably submerged less than 10 seconds. When I was back on land I tried it and it worked fine. Got home. Stripped cowling off and dried electronics. Still worked fine. That was January 19th the last time I was out. Due to lockdown. Tried it today totally dead. Took cowling off all electronics corroded. Very very disappointed.

Look it works I used it on my 3.3 meter intex mariner 4 at the beach . Okay maybe the wind and waves didn’t help I’m pretty certain for cruising along a river or cruising across a lake it’s good I’ve not tried yet . The YouTube videos normally are pretty on point . This used around 6.8 Amps on speed 1 and around 14 Amps on speed 2 I got a 110 amp hour deep cycle battery I could probably run all day .
