    Granted Alan Rickman was an extremely private man, this read offered a fascinating insight into his childhood, his move from graphic design to theatre, eventually leading to his successful film career. This book offers detailed accounts from those who knew Alan well. Mostly from his peers. I particularly enjoyed the areas where his films and projects were discussed in detail. I did however notice repetitive dialogue a few times across the chapters, whether this was a printing error or oversight I do not know, However shouldn't dissuade from a good read. In closing I feel that any dedicated fans will surely find this a satisfactory start. It is apparent Alan wasn't keen about having his life written about, but he didn't rule it out entirely. His enigmatic character is perhaps what adds to ...
