Synopsis
Detroit broadcasting history is rich with character . . . and characters. It began atop the Penobscot Building on October 23, 1946, when WWDT shot a signal to the convention center, part of a ""New Postwar Products Exposition."" WWJ-TV offered scheduled programming in June 1947, and WXYZ-TV and WJBK-TV jumped in a year later. The medium has influenced the city's personality and social agenda ever since. Soupy Sales turned getting a pie in the face into an art form. Mort Neff celebrated the state's outdoor charms. George Pierrot showed Detroiters the world. Other beloved personalities include: Milky the Clown, Ed McKenzie, Sonny Eliot, John Kelly, Marilyn Turner, Robin Seymour, Bill Bonds, Dick Westerkamp, Jingles, Bill Kennedy, Lou Gordon, Captain Jolly, Johnny Ginger, Auntie Dee, and many more., Detroit broadcasting history is rich with character . . . and characters. The book was shipped in a timely way, and was well protected with bubble packaging. For a book that is nearly 75 years old, it is in nearly perfect condition--no markings, dogears or fraying. The dust jacket has a little wear and tear on it, but that's to be expected; exactly as described. A great value for a rare book. A+ Reliable Seller--buy with confidence!

Excellent condition item, as described and pictured...and packaged well. Still scratching my head why the postage amount was so high - twice as much as normal ($29 instead of the usual $13-14 for a single paperback from the U.S. to the U.K.)...it took the shine off a pleasing purchase. I did enquire about the postage rate, but did not get a reply. I went ahead and purchased anyway, because I wanted to add the title to my collection. Not sure why eBay are quoting you so much for postage! 🤔

I received the book I ordered in the condition depicted and described on the webpage. The seller packaged the book in a plastic envelope and bubblewrap with a cardboard support, and shipped in a cushioned envelope to protect against damage in the mail.
