Still not dead
Core 2 CPU's are old, But with the Core 2 Quad you can keep that trusty old machine going. Upgrading from a Core 2 Duo shows you how slow your PC had become. While it may not have the latest 8 cores and 16 threads it does have 4 very able cores. Gaming? Yes you can, but maybe not the latest and greatest titles at high quality, but with a decent GPU you will still be able to play CS Go and many others on mid level or even 1080. So give a bit of love back to your old PC, you won't regret it.Core 2 CPU's are old, But with the Core 2 Quad you can keep that trusty old machine going. Ideal upgrade for older PC's
My old pentium dual core processor was struggling with playing games and was slow to open programs. Using the internet a laborious process. The quad core processor arrived very quickly and was easy to install, still using the original heatsink and cooler. My PC can now play games online and is significantly quicker. A very worthwhile upgrade

great CPU for it's age.
well it's an old CPU but not as old as the one I was using. I'm using a dell XPS and I think this is 2nd from the best that will go into my motherboard. I have noticed a much higher processing speed but i'll need to buy better RAM to complete the upgrade.
