The paint stirrer arrived in a couple of days. Not used it much yet but it seems like a good piece of equipment.

    Great Product so far.

Does exactly what it should. Lightweight and easy to handle for mixing modelling paint.just remember not to lift it too high up whilst it's running! Only used it a few times, so can't comment on longevity.

  • Most critical review

You get what you pay for

This time I got one that worked properly straight out of the box. Obviously it's a cheap piece of kit isn't going to last forever, and will need a but of manual help when trying to stir matt enamels that haven't been used for a while. (They were designed to mix cocktails not gloopy paint sediment.) My experience is that they give up the ghost after a while and you just have to buy a new one. I do a lot of paint mixing which in turn means a lot of stirring. I've not found anything better and some of my attempts at a home-made tool have spread the paint round the workbench rather than mixrd it up nicely.

  • GREAT ITEM

Great item ,mixes paint really well you can push the power button so it stays on all the time or only when you use your finger so as soon as you remove your finger it shut off ,awesome.

  • Good mixer for hobby type paints

The mixer is powered by 2x AA batteries and the cyclic rate is high enough to easily mix hobby craft type paints. Obviously you need to turn it off before placing it into or removing it from a can of paint or else you will cover your miniatures in splatter. You need to clean it after each use but the working parts appear to be stainless steel so the process is easy enough. I normally use a vortex mixer for small to medium paints, and this mixer is good for the larger ones that are too heavy.

  • Badger Paint Mixer - you will be impressed!

Will thoroughly mix a fresh tinlet of Humbrol enamel in about 30 seconds. Older tinlets (30 odd years in my case) will eventually become usable again even if they have been previously opened. They will need to be filtered properly for airbrushing, there's gear on the market to do this. Definitely a useful bit of kit and well worth trying. I suspect they're made somewhere like China (what isn't nowadays) but to a standard, the quality feels fine. This is my second one, last one lasted well over 10 years. Little tightwad tip - a little Actetone (nail polish remover) will help dissolve particles in old enamel but not if you want a first rate finish! Steve
