    Judge Dredd 20th Century Fox 1995 Cinergi Productions

    Tremendous fun. Still good special effects, plenty of humour. Some very good dramatic acting in places. Sits between Blade Runner and Demolition Man in many ways. And would you believe the end credits are accompanied by a The Cure song !! A nod to it being made in Britain. Oh yes and a great bit part by the great Ian Dury. This version of the film is in widescreen BUT within a 4:3 frame size. So, depending on your dvd player you may get big black borders top/bottom AND left/right. This can usually be corrected by using Zoom or Aspect Ratio settings on your TV or DVD player, but not always. A throwback to a time when most TVs were 4:3, alas. However, picture quality is GOOD.

    The film was selected for my Film Club that I run. Film was hot trash mixed with horrendous acting and silly costumes throughout. Peak 90s comic book cinema with Stalone at the helm, what do you expect.

    Great classic action film from sylvester stallone ! Sometimes I think, a forgotten film from him along with ( cobra and lock up ). He plays the comic hero well, also looks the part. Great story line with a great (good verses evil twist ) which has the law hero turned on its head! As well as some great supporting actors along side him.

    Good future-istic movie only let down is stallone removes his helmet so we can see his mug, in the 2000 comics his helmet is NEVER removed but apart from that his battle with brother rico is above great...
