The 'First Team' comprised seven songwriting duos: Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller, Gerry Goffin & Carole King, Doc Pomus & Mort Shuman, Neil Sedaka & Howard Greenfield, Burt Bacharach & Hal David, Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, and Jeff Barry & Ellie Greenwich. Other significant Brill Building songwriters included Ben Raleigh, Jack Keller, Bob Hilliard, Phil Spector, Bert Berns, Hank Hunter, Helen Miller, Tony Powers, Larry Kolber, Tommy Boyce, Mark Barkan, Bobby Darin, and others. The companion to three further Jasmine Brill Building compilations, this volume is an "ALL GIRLS EDITION", which includes household names like The Shirelles, Dionne Warwick, Timi Yuro, Connie Francis, Carole King, Brenda Lee, Jackie DeShannon, Ruth Brown and many more
