The Encyclopedia of Game Machines by Winnie Forster (20
The book is very informative and a great read and research guide, I just wish it would've been a little more accurate on the exact numbers sold and what years and the numbers of games produced. This book seems to cover more on the world front and less on the US front on Game Machines and Computers. Some information is incorrect seeing that I owned most of the beginning systems and still continue to own todays including PS3, XBOX360, PSP, and WII in case some of todays generation knows those. These were not included or even mentioned even though this book was published in 2006. and arrived in September 2006. Kind of weird not to mention these. Gaming and comuters have changed, and a hardback version would've been a better read seeing that the cover gets bent way to easily. Would have liked ... Would have liked more about the software as well seeing that any system can come out, but without stellar software why would someone buy it? Don't get me wrong its worth reading, but the price is a little steap for the book you get, try a library, they should carry it until the book falls apart. And the writters need to go to the head developers next time to make a revised edition and get correct numbers, because I have been to CES and E3 and Gaming shows and they will tell you alot about their past and this was missed. Sorry but information as an example on the Mattel Intellivision was alittle wrong, I stand up for the errors in the book their seeing that I have met the creators and developers of that fine system from the late 70's. And I was a owner of everything published which was more that you announced in the book. Just one example of a few errors. A still keep reading is addictive and fun at times just to see what you remember and see what you don't. Happy reading
