2016 release, the first studio album in six years from the iconic British rock guitarist. Loud Hailer combines fluid fretwork with topical lyrics to make a powerful statement about everything from the love of power, to the power of love. Loud Hailer, which is another name for a megaphone, is a suitable moniker for an album that isn't shy about speaking it's mind. The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer explains, "I really wanted to make a statement about some of the nasty things I see going on in the world today, and I loved the idea of being at a rally and using this loud device to shout my point of view." To help him write the 11 tracks on Loud Hailer, Beck enlisted two fierce young females from London - singer Rosie Bones and guitarist Carmen Vandenberg. Beck produced Loud Hailer with Filippo Cimatti, who also works with Rosie and Carmen. In addition to the core trio, the album also features drummer Davide Sollazzi and bassist Giovanni Pallotti, who were both recruited by Cimatti. Bones lends her powerful voice to nine of the 11 songs on Loud Hailer, which is then rounded out by two signature Beck instrumentals.

    the guy may be 70 years old but can still shred better than the so called guitar heroes of today can. it rocks from beginning to end. the vocals take a little getting used to but are pretty good.

    Interesting Creation by a Master

    Jeff Beck, Master Musician, proceeds with a few talented younger musicians. Results are interesting. Who knows what proportion he contributes to this CD, but the results are worthy. I found it best to listen to on headphones to get all the details of each song. It's a rich performance and "listenable".

    Beck's rock roots reemerge.

    Loud hailer for sure. A tight group of musicians rocking it with Beck laying down his rifts while a pounding bass, drums, rhythm guitar and haunting vocalist accompany him. Loads of dead on social lyrics/commentary too. I'm a child of the sixties now in my sixties and I love it.

    English term for a megaphone thus the cover illustration.

    Magnificent guitar by Jeff Beck harkening back to his 60's razor edge rock tone. Biting commentary lyrics written & sung in a Cockney accent by the two women on bass & rhythm guitar seem to slam home the song's message all the stronger. It did take me 2-3 listens to appreciate the artistry of this recording & it comes highly recommended for this day,age & society.

    Jeff Beck - Loud Hailer 2016 CD

    Its Jeff Beck...... hes still alive and kicking the can down the road. this is not a fluid album for me but ive only listed to it a couple times. very likely it will grow on me like some albums do... you put them down and a while - later you hear them again with ears ready for the job... it is a creative work and nice to see the collaboration- keeps things fresh. a good album.
