The sixth main entry in the Guitar Hero franchise, "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock" for the PlayStation 3 has enough additional features to keep the franchise feeling fresh. Released in 2010 by Activision, "Warriors of Rock" features extra difficulty modes, 93 songs on the disc, and alternate powers for each of the game's eight playable characters. "Warriors of Rock" has a high-quality production value while including a career mode like other Guitar Hero games. For example, the career mode in "Warriors of Rock" is fully narrated by some of rock's greatest legends, including Gene Simmons, Geddy Lee, and Neil Peart.With this PS3 installment, players can import content from Guitar Hero World Tour, a feature made possible by the import option. You will be able to use tracks from your favorite band stars from that title or this one. Smash hits from bands like Black Sabbath are included in this game. You can become your own power warrior as you work through your quest backed with animated videos to become one of the greatest rockers of all time. Or you can use Quickplay+ to play any unlocked track you wish. There are even special cheats you can use to perform tasks, such as unlocking all characters or venues.What makes this game so much fun is that you can control it with a regular or bass guitar or drums controller. Singers can hook up a Guitar Hero microphone to provide vocals. The purpose of this setup is to emulate the experience of playing with a full band. In story mode, players must gather eight characters with special individual abilities in order to defeat the game's main villain called "The Beast." A major highlight in this quest is that musicians can play through the entirety of the seven parts of Rush's "2112."The game's Quickplay+ option allows gamers to select any song from the game disc itself or from their downloadable content library. Gamers can obtain 13 different achievements in each song, usually by completing tasks like holding notes for a certain amount of time.Gameplay of "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock" for PS3 is rhythm-based. Players must match a series of notes that scroll across the screen in order to advance or score special points. Depending on how often gamers strike the correct notes -- whether it's by hitting notes on the drum, singing in tune, or holding down the buttons on the guitar controllers -- their performance meter will rise. There are also five difficulty levels depending on the gamers' skill levels, including Beginner, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert. However, some tracks give the option of playing on Expert+ level, a special sixth difficulty level specifically for drums. Drummers can use a double bass pedal for any songs containing this difficulty level.This PlayStation 3 music video game is one of those games that can be played repeatedly and continue to provide a great deal of fun and entertainment to those playing it. Fully compatible with instruments from previous games, "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock" is fun for gamers of any age who want to live out their rock and roll dreams.

    I love the Guitar Hero franchise! Lots of songs to choose from. The game is extremely challenging even on easy mode. Case is good, back of the disc had a couple of smudges. Overall, good game!
