Zeus: Master of Olympus is a city-building game set in the legendary Greece of ancient mythology. Players start with an empty tract of land, full of possibility. By marking certain areas for housing, citizens will begin to move in and populate the budding village. These townsfolk are put to work to keep the village running and to aid in its expansion and improvement.<br><br>Some will trade, some will farm, some will patrol the streets, and (depending upon the kind of neighborhood they live in) some might even lounge around all day, just soaking up the culture. As the city develops, different types of workers become available offering more services to the community. Leaders of more advanced cities can even create buildings to appease an angry god or summon a great hero, like Perseus or Hercules.<br><br>Zeus was developed by Impressions Games, the same team that created other city-building games such as Pharaoh and the successful Caesar series. While the basic gameplay in Zeus is similar to those titles, the interface has been rearranged somewhat. Other, seemingly minor differences, in citizen behavior and the management of goods, may provide interesting new strategic challenges, even for accomplished veterans of the earlier games

    I bought these older PC games for my daughter for Christmas. I also own these games. If you like to build and rule mythical city states, then this game is for you. Works fine on my PC and laptop; play is as good as many newer games.

    My fave & a list of sleeper hits

    Of all the city building games I own, Zeus/Poseidon is the one I seem to grab for most when I want to play a classic game. Pharaoh/Cleo runs a close second. If you're getting bored of the classics, look into a few fun but NOT well known games like Space Colony, Startopia, and Theme Hospital. They also satisfy THE URGE. These games weren't well advertised and are often hard to come by, but an occasional one pops up here at eBay from time to time. Startopia is probably my fave of the three. Two Point Hospital is a new version of Theme Hospital and a GREAT UPGRADE!

    Beware of the "Sold Out" version of this product

    This is a great game, HOWEVER, you should be clear to get the original product that is from "Sierra". Sierra is the original publisher and the game will work great in the US. Some sellers, like "stairways" sell a knock off of Zeus from a publisher called "Sold Out", which is UK based. It doesn't work easily on US computers. The "Sold Out" version requires scouring the internet for a patch that is not guaranteed to work. Seller "Stairways" uses a stock photo from "Sierra" which may suggest that the "Factory Sealed" product actually comes from them, but it does not. No technical support is provided although it was stated that there was. The "Sold Out" version did not work in any of my 5 computers either with or without the patch. I later found a used original "Sierra" version that ...

    Works Great and have had no problems!!!!!

    Works great have had no problems. Brand new and I have had hours of enjoyment playing this game. This has been one of my favorites and I also love the new gmaes that have spinned off this one,
