    A Good Lens

I only installed it to my camera once to see if there is any dust. Currently I'm still using my 50mm prime lens. I hope there will be chance to use it.

  • Zuiko lens line lives on.

I began using the Olympus Om cameras when they debuted in the early 70's,employing them for professional work for over 20 years. I recently began using my old OM-1 again after a long hiatus from photography. The Vivitar zooms I have are OK for snapshots, but lack the contrast and sharpness of prime lenses. This purchase on eBay was actually a 28mm F:3.5. When the OM line debuted, this lens ,along with the 135mm F:3.5 was offered as economy lenses to compliment the 50mm sold with the OM-1. In practice, the 28/3.5 delivers excellent performance overall and is very compact as well. I once had a Zuiko 28 F2 which was excellent-these now command premium prices. In most cases, the F3.5 is fast enough. I shoot at a lot of blues and jazz sessions in dim light. A little bounce flash and 800 ISO film ...

  • Olympus Zuiko 28mm f/2.8 Lens

For what it is it is excellent. Great quality shots. But of course, it is MANUAL focus. This can be a pain on a e520 with a 4/3's sensor. With Live view, you can get stunning shots with very narrow dept of field. the 28mm focal length is equal to 56mm on a 35mm film camera, so this is very close field of view standard 50mm on same film camera. Good all around lens.

  • Olympus lenses stil have the right stuff

These lenses, built for SLRs as a system, can do anything asked of them, including use on more modern digital cameras, if one has the prpoer adapter. They are selling typically at about ten percent of what they msrp'd at in their day. Great pictures, reasonable prices....what's not to like?

  • 28mm f/2.8 tested on Canon 450D

The lens was mounted to the canon 450D with a OM to EOS adapter with AF confirm chip. At F5.6 the picture is very nice compared to f2.8,3.2,4. Did not do any tests from f8 to f16 as my AF assist does not work in that aperture range. It also persormed good for portrait shoots ,Close up portraits had uneven magnification of certain areas. Overall ,I like it for group photos, and indoor shoots. Gave very good results for black and white captures also. Thanks
