Be aware when buying this item
Be aware that this is an electronic controller and as such is not a direct replacement of older machines that used a variable resistor foot control. That's not to say that it won't work, but resistor and electronic control are totally different. There is also no earth connection, but nothing is marked as Class 2 or double insulated. The foot control may not be a problem but an unearthed motor connected to it might be. Where there is a problem and I soon found this one out, is that the pins on the machine motor are in-line and equally spaced, but the trailing socket on the foot control are not equally spaced. The unequal spacing is a safety feature, but it does mean that motor and foot controller may not be compatible. A competent electrician might be able to sort this out, but the ...
