However whatever you do don't ever allow the South African Post Office to handle any part of the shipping and delivery. These guys are a complete disaster. I had to drive 20km into a very dodgy area to collect the parcel, and then still pay an additional R200 for I know not what. Not very quick either.
DHL is one door to door alternative, which might cost more, but works: Door to door, no surprise costs. Tracked and efficient.

Gearbox came before expected (roughly 48 hrs later) during Christmas holidays so top marks for that and gearbox appears to be in great condition, no wobble from diff joints and input shaft seems fine. Seller was quick and informative with his responses and was happy to answer any of my questions. Not yet fitted obviously but top marks so far. A+++ seller
