Oscar winning true story of the life of Mahatma Gandhi, who was killed by an activist shortly after India gained full independence from Britain (he died in 1948). Directed by Richard Attenborough, it follows Gandhi's story from his early adult life in South Africa, where he fought for freedoms for Indian citizens, and then moved on to his major life's work In India. it is an epic film with a remarkable performance of Ben Kingsley as Ghandi. Sweeping views of India's deserts, plains and cities form the backdrop. The DVD arrived in good condition - no problems with it, and we played it at home recently. Good sound and picture quality. It reached us by post in good time. Well worth the price - good value.
