Upgrade from 1.28GHz
It worked quite alright after some tweeking of the motherboard drivers. It was faster than the one I had but my mobo had bad caps form the start. I'm looking to buy a new mobo.

Works A Treat
I bought this to help save an old socket A motherboard from a premature burial. The Athlon was at an attractive price (£10) and is now running like a champ. It is the fastest processor the board - which is nine years old - can accomodate. That said, the friend I updated it for is delighted as he now has a nippy Internet machine that can also breeze through his word processing. I added another 512 meg of ram to give the board 1 gig in total, so it's happiness all round.I bought this to help save an old socket A motherboard from a premature burial. This item was for my mums tower pc which uses a 333fsb socket A motherboard , the processor will give good performance when the requirements of tasks and programs are taken into consideration .

Athlon XP2600+
Purchased as a replacement chip for an aging PC, it works flawlessly. Although its not going to break any speed records or run 12 programs at once, it runs the Windows environment with no hitches and breezes through Office applications as well.

Is not working
I bought it actually as a mistake, cos my mainboard is support athlon up to 2600+ but not a barton core, so I thought is working good. Yesterday I tried to plug it to my friend's machine witch is fully support for this CPU and definetly doesn't works
