Ink cartridge was tied to the hp ink subscription service. I won't use that as I think the schemes a bit of a con. Ie the replacement cartridge price thru the scheme is the same as what it costs for the full ink cartridge with the subscription chip not included. Not the sellers fault, is hp's.

Hi You can use the cartridge provided without subscription. It just ask you to link the printer to an HP smart account which is free and requires only downloading the app.

    Not a printer for a technophobe.

    An absolute pig to set up, needs and internet connection to do so. Had a nightmare on hold for over an hour to HP support on a Saturday only to be told that they don't have anyone able to sort laser printer out available. Don't buy the 'We' model, you'll never be able to use aftermarket toner in it, but you can on the 'W' model. Prints really nicely, well built.

    Does what it says on the tin it took a while to set up but got there in the end and now have good quality product that works quickly and quietly

    HP Smart printers such as this one are hands down the worst printers.

    I work in IT support and we had a client buy a few of these HP Smart printers. They're terrible. You need an app from the Microsoft App store to install it, which means you MUST have Windows 10/11, and you must create a Microsoft account and have it signed into the store. Once the app is installed, you MUST create a HP account and add the printer to it. This is pot luck whether or not the printer is detected or not. The printer cannot be configured using the web interface, it MUST be tied to HP to work. HP control the printer, if you put perfectly fine compatible toner in it, HP will block it and stop you from printing. You can't download drivers for the printer, they don't exist, you can try to use the generic drivers, but this breaks some functionality of the printer. ALL of the ...
