The brainchild of star Patrick McGoohan, the series followed the adventures of No. 6 (McGoohan), a former secret agent who is being held captive in a highly secured village, the location of which remains a mystery throughout the series. This groundbreaking and innovative show reached an unfortunate end as TV bosses got cold feet following low ratings and increasingly strange story lines. But McGoohan himself took control and steered the show to an ending that continues to cause great debate among THE PRISONER's faithful fans. This release includes the entire series of the show, digitally restored.

Pretty good but could have been better...!!
Very very good and I suggest everybody if they can get the prisoner series box set and watch....!! Just remember it was sit over 30 year ago but it is fantastic and very original and well made with a good cast of actors...!!

Prophetic, philospophical, paranoiac, unique.
Nothing ever so good on British TV before or since. Truly a one- off. If you haven't seen it, you should. If you have, you won't regret seeing it again. There are several audio commentaries in the DVD set which cast some light on the making of this amazing production.

The copy I bought has enhanced pictures of a very good quality. The series was prophetic; it shows the conflict between the individual and the collective. I preferred the earlier episodes.

Loved the series when it was aired on British TV back in the late sixties. Now, thanks to super quality Network DVD, can watch and enjoy it again! Nicely presented in a single multi-disc case the set comes with some detailed extra content.
