It's tough but it's NOT rubber!
This is a good solid cable-end twin 13A socket suitable for creating an extension lead for most tasks - including tough work. It is very solid and IMHO unlikely to break even given a fair amount of abuse - like being dropped or thrown around. Good value too. However, don't be misled by the description - it is NOT made of rubber - it's a much harder material although it doesn't seem brittle. Reference to the manufacturer's website claims it's made of 'rugged hardwearing industrial grade plastic'. That implies that, although the item itself is likely to survive harsh treatment, it is also more likely to damage items it impacts than a rubber version. As a result, it may be less suitable for applications where the need is for a 'soft' end to your extension lead - such as when working in ... Hard to wire up and does not have a 13 amp fuse as stated
This was an absolute nightmare to wire up because the 3 long, copper strips with connectors at the ends kept coming out of their tracks! And although the cable entry hole was large enough to take an 8mm cable, the retaining bar which is supposed to stop the cable being pulled out accidentally was FAR FAR too short to go over the 8mm outdoor cable
