The title and book blurb is misleading. This is a work of fiction throughout but the title suggests it is a factual study book. This fictional story has historical inaccuracies and perpetuates myths of medieval peasant life. I rate this book 1 out of 10
Fascinating take on the life of a medieval English peasant woman. This book was recommended by the Times last week in their top ten of historical books about women. The life of the heroine of this book is not like the Queens and aristocracy we are more used to reading about, it gives you some idea of just how hard life was in that period.
