I use both the trackpad and a mouse as it speeds up workflow. The trackpad is a must have and works very well. Battery life is excellent as is the bluetooth connection with an Apple M1 device. However, it is rather expensive so would advise anyone to check out eBay first before paying the full RRP.

For dragging items across the screen, a mouse is better because if you run out of tracking area you can pick up the mouse with button down, with trackpad you have to lift the button off. I’ve gone back to a scroll wheel mouse. I’ll find a use for this scrolling left to right at which it excels. Though maybe a tilt wheel mouse or similar is better for that too. Time will tell.

I love this Mouse/Track pad and have owned the white one before but this one not only just as great to use but it looks stunning as well. I know that Apple's products are more expensive than others but you cannot argue with the quality. They have and still are making the best mouse pads or track pads around and its just a joy to use.

The tracking area is about double that of a Macbook, making it easier to use at a lower sensitivity and therefore more precise (eg for Photoshop, Illustrator, etc). The trackpad is big enough that you can set a corner as secondary click, something which I haven't done on my Mac because it annoyed me. Completely customisable and the '3D Touch' feature is ergonomically designed; it's not something you can activate accidentally but you don't have to press too hard for it. The batter life seems to be more than sufficient. I would say Apple's suggestion of recharging once per month is about accurate. In terms of design, it looks great, especially in the dark grey. It is essentially featureless and a nice addition to the minimalist set up on my desk.

Like another review said, people who know this product exists were probably already looking for it. The Magic Trackpad 2 is unmatched. There are no other trackpads like it. The gesture control on a Mac and iPad make it superior to a mouse for me, unless you need very specific pointer control. It’s also beautiful, and I’m a fan of force touch letting me click anywhere on the trackpad. Your desk footprint for this is also far smaller than a mouse, but with arguably more control. Is it good value?... Unfortunately Apple are able to charge about double what this should cost, because there are no competitors at this level of quality. That’s probably why you’re looking at it on Ebay, not Apple’s website!
