The item had a faint scratch on it that wasn't visible in the photos or the description. Normally I wouldn't mind at all, but since it was a child's Christmas item, that did bother me, but overall it was still new as described and worth the price the seller charged. And of course the child didn't notice so I was still happy with the purchase. It also shipped very quickly, seller was pleasant, and the item was packaged professionally. The Complete First Season for the US!
Before the recent digital releases on Amazon, this was the only full season that was released on DVD in the US. All episodes use Ringo Starr's UK Narration, and all episodes are from the first seven books from the Reverend W. Awdry (save the last Christmas story). The picture and sound quality is greatly improved from the older VHS tapes, and the film's color are brighter and bolder, much like the artwork from the original books. A must have for all Thomas fans out there, especially those who grew up with the older seasons or Shining Time Station.Before the recent digital releases on Amazon, this was the only full season that was released on DVD in the US. Thomas & Friends - The Early Years (2004,DVD)
I bought this for my four young grandsons. They LOVE Thomas and it is a special treat at Noni's house to watch a video. Thomas is always entertaining, holds their attention and has a good lesson to learn at the end of each story. Also entertaining for me to hear Ringo Starr, George Carlin and Alec Baldwin reading the stories in the different Thomas and Friends DVD's.

Thomas & Friends - The Early Years DVD Collection
This is a great addition to any Thomas and Friends DVD collection. I found that by watching the early episodes, a lot of the foundation to the series is explained and set-up. Ringo Starr is a great narrator, this is a great DVD set. Some of the stories are the same as episodes that have been re-narrated by George Carlin or Alec Baldwin, but as a collection they all gel better than the random bits that one gets by watching Sprout or otherwise. This is far and away my sons favorite Thomas DVD.This is a great addition to any Thomas and Friends DVD collection.
