Overall an excellent gardening book!
Authors claim this book works for any gardening zone and while this is correct, it takes a few moments to date your pages. Once this is done, book is ready to go! I love the gardening tips. I am a medium experienced gardener and I learned a few things right off the bat! I love the journal pages. They are divided by years so you can easily see what worked well (or not so well) the year before and plan accordingly. Journal pages are located within each week, which makes it very easy to see while you are IN the week. Pages can be wiped off, which is a great help when you have the book at the garden while working. One very small complaint. Print is dark gray, which is a little difficult for me to read without my glasses but again, a very small complaint. Also fun are the "She says / ... Explicit garden guidance written from practical experience in a conversational tone. Organization is regimented & is intended to be followed & gardener-documented on the pages of the book. Both used copies I purchased came not marked so I suspect most people aren't disciplined enough to follow all this sage instructions. However, the content is so conversationally rich & casual, anecdotal, organized, charted & indexed, that it is still a high value guide if the gardener just reads the book w/o documentation. This is a lot of book, exceeding the contents, expectations & scope of 99% of self-guided gardening books on the new or used market. I bought my first copy as an experienced (but not fabulous) gardener & purchased the 2nd copy for my never-planted-a-single-seed-in-her-life daughter ... This book is great for new and old Gardner's alike! If your new it will help you get started on the right path. If your an old Gardner like myself it will help you keep up with your Vegetable Garden. The book also has record keeping so you can keep up with what you did during the season that may or may not have helped your production that season. Good information wish I had gotten the book a long time ago. It's a must for the homesteader or survivalist that understands growing will be a necessity if there's ever a catastrophic event that last long term.
