This collection contains the entire first season of the cult favorite television series HERCULES - THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS. A hit when it aired, the series was preceded by five television movies, also included in this set. The show stars Kevin Sorbo as Hercules, the son of Zeus and a mortal woman, Alcmene. Given to tempestuous fits of anger, Hercules decides to control his rage once and for all by using his supernatural abilities for the good of man. Along with his friend Iolaus, Hercules roams the Earth to fight mythological monsters and help humanity.

    Great fun.

    Fearless hero takes on any and all monsters (beasts and human) to protect innocent lives. The characters and storylines are well done, and the cinematography (New Zealand) is incredible. Lots of exciting fight scenes. Lots of humor, some of it a bit campy, but very enjoyable. The special CG effects are 'primitive' (this was done for television in the mid 1990s), but were accomplished by WETA who went on to do the masterpiece effects for the 'Lord Of The Rings' and 'The Hobbit' movies. This set of Season 1 includes the 5 made-for-TV Action Pack movies, which is a major plus. Overall, I give it 5 Stars.
