    It's well made and works well, but expensive because of the waste involved.

    The kit contains everything you need to accommodate an 8' garage door, but it seems a little inefficient because you throw away the section of rail being replaced and the original belt. They could have just added a small section of the track to add to the others, leaving the one with the opening for the pulley alone, or they could have a different model for 8' doors so there is no waste. Of course, the waste is being paid for by the consumer, so it doesn't matter to Genie and they save the expense of having two models instead of just one. So, it boils down to the fact that what you get works fine and is easy to convert to the longer rail, but it costs more than it should for such a small change.

    The Genie

    My first try with genie and my last one....... This is the best garage opener I have ever seen. And has so many options and at the same time so easy to set it up. But the thing I like must is the guaranty and the costumer service is outstanding. With all this been said, genie is for me.... Rick
