Set in the 23rd century, the series chronicled the intergalactic adventures of the U.S.S. Enterprise on its five-year mission to explore the outer reaches of space. Encountering a now-iconic assembly of innovative alien life forms such as the Klingons, Romulans, Tribbles, and Khan Noonian Singh, the ship's jumpsuited crew was a then unheard-of font of multiculturism: Asian Hikaru Sulu (George Takei), African-American Nyota Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), and Scotsman Montgomery Scotty Scott (James Doohan). But it was the contrasting personalities of cooly logical Vulcan Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy), emotionally intuitive medical officer Leonard Bones McCoy (DeForest Kelley), and womanizing ship captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner in definitive overacting mode) that lent the series much of its charm--and spawned a rabid cult following that continues to fuel costume sales and convention bookings to this very day. Arrived in poor condition. Due solely to the negligent lack of any packaging. Just placed in a grey plastic bag. Not good enough and showed complete lack of respect for the buyer and product. I asked for a new case to replace cracked one just offered partial refund or " return". Had me over a barrel as the CD is very hard to source and isn't cheap. So had no choice but to accept the partial refund. Not happy at all! Poor service in every regard.

Good stuff to share with new fan of the series.
I've seen these episodes so many times over the years, but now I'm introducing the series to a new fan, and it's fascinating to find that I'm noticing all sorts of nuances now. The acting really was very good indeed.

Star Trek: Resplendently remastered
I watched Star Trek on its first transmission in the UK but was never a fan - Doctor Who was always my favourite programme. On seeing this revamped and remastered box set I was very, very impressed. The effects are first rate and compliment the quainter 60's efforts without diminishing the pioneering nature of the original series. These stories are wonderfully enhanced and well worth seeing again. If I didn't fall in love the first time, I came closer seeing these excellent revivals. Great original Star Trek series with Special Effects that make it look even better. Brought up to date for a whole new generation of star trek fans. Excellent DVDs with Loads of Extras. A must for Star Trek Fans.
