About this product

Product Information

Having just witnessed his best friend's wedding, James Bond (Timothy Dalton) is shocked when he learns that ruthless drug runner Franz Sanchez (Robert Davi) has assaulted the couple on their honeymoon, killing the bride. Assisted by the twiggy Drug Enforcement Agent Pam Bouvier (Carey Lowell) and the gadget wizard Q (Patrick Llewelyn), Bond resigns from Her MajestyÆs Secret Service and pursues justice on his own. Perhaps the darkest of the 007 films, LICENCE TO KILL exhibits a previously unseen side of James Bond. Maniacal at times, ex-agent 007 detonates everything in his way on the road to avenging his friend's bride. The 16th instalment of the James Bond series, LICENCE TO KILL veers away from the pick-up artistry and light interlocution of former 007 films and gives us a crystal clear view of the man behind the martini glass.

Reviews
Variety - The thrills-and-spills chases are superbly orchestrated as pic spins at breakneck speed through its South Florida and Central American locations., Los Angeles Times - Every once in a while, [the Bond series] pulls in its stomach, pops the gun from its cummerbund, arches its eyebrow and gets off another bull's-eye. The newest, LICENCE TO KILL, is probably one of the five or six best of Bond., New York Times - A script that makes [Bond] fit for the 90's....Lowell becomes the most playful, modern Bond heroine in years.

Received the wrong item, really unhelpful seller, didn't send coherent messages and took so long to respond. Thankfully they take returns.

  • Exactly as the seller described. Good value for money.

Exactly as described. There is little more to say, quality is good. Film is enjoyable. Not one of the best but well worth watching.

  • Should be a classic

Hubby is a big fan of the James Bond films, so another one on DVD to add to the collection. A good Sunday afternoon, curl up on the sofa film.

  • Licence to kill

I think Timothy Dalton was right to wait to play James Bond this film and living daylights were just right for him, he is a fine actor in anything he does. There were a couple of scenes i did not like because of the violence but in the whole it was a very good film, compared to some of the films that are out today which have too much violence. People compare all the actors that have played Bond but they all have their own characteristics which works well in each film. This one suited Timothy Dalton, it was well directed. I think that most Bond films are worth watching.

  • the best bond of the 80s

my favourite bond movie it has it all and stands out as one of the greatest timothy dalton plays this role to the hilt in this movie matched with a excellent formidable villian played by robert davi id watch this over again i love the others but this is a truly believable story and has everything to expect and more this is a great gift for anyone who likes action movies and not just for bond fans
