Great hammer for wood splitting
I use this with the 14 inch Estwing E3-FF4 Splitting Axe to split firewood less that 6 inches in diameter. The head of the B3-4LBL Drilling Hammer is narrower than a standard hand sledge. This, together with the narrower neck, make following the Splitting Axe through a log exceptionally easy. The solid steel, one piece Hammer means you don't need to worry about loosing the head while you work. The extra handle length gives you a bit more oomph on your down swing. It’s one solid swinging hammer. When things just don’t go my way, I reach for this mighty enforcer. Little in the way of feedback through the handle, which helps teach things a thorough lesson. 4-lbs. is A nice weight to swing, and it’s easy to hold onto when you get carried away. I like how I can continually keep teaching longer than I could with a heavier hammer. When you put your weight into it, you can really make a strong impression. I highly recommend this compact beating tool. It works well for everything from drilling as it’s intended for, to hand forging, and teasing rusty parts into submission. The blue hammer.
Bought this to use with kindling kracker and it works great but found this blue pounder to have many uses. When I'm doing projects and have help which is an exception but I always ask for the blue hammer for though jobs. Its big blue and at 4lb what ever you hit with moves. Great product!
