Great CD.
This is an awesome CD if you like mellow, laid back music. It is one that I listen to all day at work. It has a nice, settling, and comfortable tempo and the lyrics just flow. It is a must have for a easy listening/contemporary jazz collection. I bought it for the one fast paced song that they play on the radio and that is the one that I pay the least attention to now. After seeing her in concert on DirecTV, it gave me a new appreciation for the CD. I hear it differently after she explained what she was going through when she wrote the songs.This is an awesome CD if you like mellow, laid back music. It is one that I listen to all day at work. I don't know if this is Corinne Bailey Rae's first CD or not, but this is the first I've heard, and it is very strong! I caught her performance recently on Saturday Night Live, and immediately had to get the disk. If you combined Norah Jones with Alicia Keyes, you'd get Corinne Bailey Rae. "Put Your Records on" and "Like a Star" are particularly strong, mellow cuts. But "I'd Like To" proves that she can move up-tempo too. I have to admit, I'd probably never get a whole Norah Jones CD, but Corinne Bailey Rae is a very pleasant surprise.I don't know if this is Corinne Bailey Rae's first CD or not, but this is the first I've heard, and it is very strong! A Must Have
This is an awesome CD! My first time listening to Corinne's single "Just Like A Star" was memorizing! I was an instant fan of her music. I heard nothing but great things about her music and I simply had to find out for myself. I am glad I did purchase her CD. She brings a refreshing new sound to the music world that we so needed. Also, If you are a Billy Holiday fan, she has very similar sound to her voice that makes it that more enjoyable to listen to. It's kind of like taking situations from the present, and taking them to the past, and blending them all together with the final outcome...Corinne Bailey Rae!!! Awesome Cd!!!This is an awesome CD!
