When a victim is involved in a car crash they usually reawaken to find that their life has slightly changed, but is more-or-less the same. Not so for fashionable girl-about-town Jane Berry (Nancy McKeon), who opens her eyes to find herself in a totally unrecognizable world in the delectable comedy, COMFORT AND JOY. Focused primarily on her career and expensive clothing, Jane finds it galling when she awakes from an unfortunate crash to discover she is now a dowdy housewife with a penchant for charity work! Clearly something is awry, but Jane is flummoxed by her surroundings, and has to get her act together fast if she's to discover exactly what happened to her past life.

Future or Past?
I rented "Comfort and Joy" a few years ago and at first didn't like it. But I watched it more than once and fell in love with the storyline and the characters. Nancy Mckeon plays "Jane", a single woman with nothing but her career, fighting, divorced parents and an emotionally unavailable boyfriend. On the way to her boss's Christmas Eve party, Jane loses control of her car and crashes into a utility pole, temporarily rendering Jane unconcious. When she comes to she is being helped by an attractive , concerned man , Sam, who seems to know her. She soon realizes she is dressed differently and driving a different car and Sam claims to be her husband of 10 years and that they have 2 children. She can't accept his story, even though she meets the children. She sneaks out of the house and goes ... I rented "Comfort and Joy" a few years ago and at first didn't like it. Jane stuggles with understanding how the old Jane" could give up the money, prestige and freedom for an older house, 2 kids and a husband who works with the homeless. The ending is great and you will wonder as the movie goes if Jane is actually visitng the future or did she really forget the last 10 years of her life?
