But after her bizarrely mutilated body is discovered, he is thrown into a sleaze infested, nightmarish world of corruption.     Great trilogy.

    It is a great production. My only complaint is that the Yorkshire accents are extremely difficult to understand. Subtitles would solve this problem. It took my to the 3rd episode to begin catching on the thick accent.

    Must watch...

    Brilliantly written from the great series of books and acted, depicting the grim dark heart of the north in those years. Pity its been buried by all channels , a bit too controversial i quess, it wouldnt get made today even.
