It became apparent that the Philadelphia coin had begun to tarnish. Take a look in Wikipedia: "Soon after release of the new coins, it was discovered that they tarnished quickly once in circulation." (https: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacagawea_dollar#Production_and_release) These coins came sealed in the original mint plastic. They were never in circulation, but 16 years took their toll. The seller refunded me for the one coin.
