The Western Digital Caviar Green 1 TB hard drive makes personal computers more eco-friendly. The Intelliseek, No Touch, and IntelliPower technologies of the Western Caviar Green hard drive allow for 40 percent less power consumption than what ordinary PCs use. It is also cool and quiet and runs at very low operating temperatures. Low temperatures translate to more reliability and decreased acoustics making it perfect for business and personal computers as well as high-performing desktop PCs. With 1 TB capacity, the device measures 10.2 x 14.7 x 2.5 cm and weighs just 0.6 kg. It operates as either an external or internal hard drive. As an external drive, no fan is required. The transfer rate of the Western Digital Caviar Green 1 TB hard drive is 300 MGps as an external drive with108 MGps internal data rate. The Western Caviar Green hard drive uses a Serial ATA 300 interface with a 32 MB buffer. The Western Caviar Green 1 TB hard drive is S.M.A.R.T and RoHS compliant. The Western Caviar Green 1 TB hard drive is high capacity with enough room for storage-intensive programs and operating systems, as well as photos, music, videos and more. Designed to provide a power savings feature, the Western Digital Caviar Green 1 TB hard drive is an eco-friendly, green solution for PC users who want a high-performance hard drive, while taking care of the environment.
