Have you ever stood on a London tube platform looking down the tunnel to see what's down there?
I'm a Londoner, family's from Shoreditch/Bethnal Green so the tube, and I've known a bit about hidden bits of the tube lines, like the ghost stations since childhood.
I got left on a train that had terminated and had gone into a siding for a driver's break once & spent 20 mins waiting alone in the carriage in an eerie side tunnel until the train was due to go back into the system, which was interesting, so when I saw this book it was a must-buy.
Very informative but not too 'dry'. A book for anyone who has ever stood on tube platforms looking down the tunnels to see how far/how much you can see out there, or staring out the carriage windows to watch for line branches etc. on tube rides.
Good quality and very in depth study of hidden tunnels in London. The only drawback is that it is a specialist subject and more for the enthusiast than just a casual reader.
