Additional InformationScrooge is a skinflint businessman who loathes the Christmas season and begrudges having to give time off to his best employee, Bob Cratchit (Richard E. Grant). On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his late friend and partner, Jacob Marley (Bernard Lloyd), who in the afterlife has come to see the error of his ways. Marley arranges for Scrooge to be visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past (Joel Grey), Christmas Present (Desmond Barrit), and Christmas Yet to Come (Tim Potter) in hopes of teaching Scrooge of the importance of embracing the joy of the holiday season.

The Spirits of Christmas.
I always thought that this was the second best if not a very good match for the original version (the B/W one with good old Sir Alec). Forget all others. Patrick Stewart makes a very believable Scrooge, and all the Spirits in this version add something special to this. Compared to all the other versions, this one makes the best attempt at capturing the 'Dickensian' and historically correct spirit. (I think the automatic sensor may be a philistine, as I got a swearing warning when typing/referring to the name of the greatest British Author). HoHoHo. All the best. Jack.

as a lover of scrooge for many many years I know the story well this scrooge gives slight differences to the story .enjoyable all the same
