  • Nothing quite like it...

After having seen Jerusalem on stage and going for a second showing I couldn't resist picking up a copy of the script at the theatre... The language is not for the faint hearted and some of the topic matter may not be everyone's cup of tea but there is so much to smile about in this play. A bunch of new age travellers in a wood is where it both begins and ends... In unexpected ways... The writing in Jerusalem is phenomenal... The wit... whilst not politically correct... gives characters real weight and the humour just keeps on coming. As on stage the immaculate conception and giant's table remain standout features which just grow and grow in stature. Whilst being washed in humour the tale does have a more serious side to it that hits home with a pound... And whilst Mark Rylance cannot help but come to mind for any who have been fortunate enough to see this play live... even if you missed the opportunity there is no reason for you to miss out on the source from which it arose...
