    The quality of the manufacturing of the monitor adapter is great. It took quite a bit of time to get the monitor of the original stand. I check the specs of the iMac monitor and monitor arm, all with in the specs. However the monitor extending arm was not strong enough to hold the heavy iMac Monitor. I can / or will use the monitor adapter with another monitor arm.

    This is not the Apple VESA mount, this is an aftermarket part and the finish of the aluminum does not match Apple's. The finish is much coarser and looks cheap. If having the finish match your iMac or Thunderbolt Display is important, hold out for a genuine Apple part, otherwise it functions just fine.

    Not for the early Cinema displays!

    This adapter does not fit the Apple Cinema Displays 20-23". I was not able to try it out. But the quality of the adapter is nice and probably works great for any later iMacs or Thunderbolt Display.
