    Whether you like football or not, you'll like The Repacements

    The Longest Yard? Okay. North Dallas Forty? Meh. Brian's Song? Maybe for a good cry. If you want to laugh and be entertained while watching a football themed movie, you can't beat The Replacements. Gene Hackman, Jack Warden, Keanu Reeves Rhys Ifans, Orlando Jones and Jon Favreau star in this story of a late season players strike that threatens to shut down the football season (based on the real 1987 players strike). The Washington Sentinels hire replacement players to finish their last 3 games of the season. This has some really funny stuff with John Madden and Pat Summerall playing themselves for game commentary. Can't say enough good about this film, but I'll bet you watch it way more than once! It certainly was a hit at my Superbowl 51 pregame party!

    The premise itself is a great situation. The "second chance" angle is always uplifting, and most of the characters are very funny and relatable. Great movie.
