The Princess Bride Behind the Scenes, just as Magical!

This a wonderful book! The movie is a classic, and it is so endearing to find that the cast and crew found it just as magical to make as it is to watch. Lots of great photos, and Cary Elwes' writing and storytelling is very amusing! Highly recommend.

  • Most critical review

    Lightweight with great features

The book, while insightful in many places, does not hold the reader's interest because it is several times too long. Only those truly beguiled by the amazing movie will read the entire text, so tempting is it to jump among the many quotes from the cast and producers. This could have been distilled into a book 1/2 or 1/3 the size and been irresistible. The one point which is repeated (practically never regarding Cary himself) is the capable and knowledgeable stature of those who labored on the film (writer, director, actors). To say that they were all wonderful, ingenious, and unforgettable is redundant to anyone who has actually seen the film.
