    Excellent bridge camera

    I'd had a Fuji HS10 for many years, and taken some really good photos of wildlife in the game parks when on holiday, amongst the more usual holiday and family photos. Then, on holiday in New Zealand, the viewfinder image went blurred and the lens rattled - an inner lens had detached itself and that was that. New camera needed. It was like a bereavement of an old friend or faithful dog. Scanning eBay for a 2nd hand replacement there were very few bridge Fujis of the current or recent model coming up for sale so read a number of reviews and the Canon SX50 seemed to be a close equivalent - and there were lots available. Lurked for a while to get an idea of the price and eventually went for one that was in excellent condition, but at the top of the price range. Delivery was prompt, and ...

    As a complete amateur this camera has made photo taking as easy as A B C. The clarity of images is incredible,i am delighted with this camera as a starting point to catch some everlasting memories . So so easy to use and user friendly top marks to canon power shot.     Very impressed!

    I wanted something a little more technical than the point and shoot I usually use, but couldn't justify spending a fortune on a DSLR camera so this bridge camera is perfect. It is fairly easy to use, the components seem very good quality, and the picture quality is great. I feel more like a photographer in control of the settings but it isn't as complicated as a bigger setup. The 50x zoom and the HDR is fantastic but you will likely need to use a tripod for these features. The flash is a tad weak but I don't often use it anyway. X

    Good value now the newer model is out!

    I am new to this level of photography, so making a decision on which camera to buy was difficult. A Canon EOS was out of my price range especially with extra glass, so looked at a bridge and this one was recommended to me. I carefully studied reviews of the SX50 vs the SX60 and in my opinion this one won out. I am working my way through the User Manual which is very inforrmative and not too technical, so I can learn all of it's features & hope to be shooting some quality shots (with a lot of practice!) soon.
