    Shipping was fast. I'm sure it was packaged. Well, I never got to see it, but we'll get into that. I'm sure it was as described. It was a great value was delivered to my front porch on time. But unfortunately, no fault of the sellers, I was a victim of porch pirates and someone stoled my package before I got it no fault of the sellers.     Stephen King's fascinating TV mini-series of "The Shining."

    It was fascinating to see Stephen King's TV miniseries of his famous horror novel, after having watched Stanley Kubrick's movie version of "The Shining" recently. In six hours, King was better able to convey the nuanced struggles of the central characters (and especially Jack Torrance), as the story builds to its horrific climax. Of course King has a lot of supernatural special effects, but overall, they are more in service to the story, whereas some of Kubrick's scary visuals struck me as visual non-sequitors. The cover of the DVD was a little worn, but I don't care about that. This 2 disc DVD edition was in perfect viewing condition, which is all that matters to me.

    good movie

    Both this version is good as is the jack nicohloson shining this had alittle more content but the origional had a much more creepier feel with the music and the stunning opening scenery plus no and i mean no one can have a more realastic insane crazy look like jack nicholoson hes a natural at looking crazy ha ha plus the more adult content and language made it a more intence movie but both movies are good.

    This is the ABC TV series version, which I like much better than Kubrick’s, because ABC used Stephen King’s own screenplay, which Kubrick tossed out in favor of his own big-wheels “auteur” version. This one’s scarier!

    Sticks to the book!

    While the Kubrick film is interesting as it’s own separate film, I personally prefer the story of the novel. This production sticks much closer to the source material.
